Hiroshima, Mon Cherie
After my camera fell apart in my hands before I even got on the plane, I hardly expected to ever get to make this photobook. Yet, after a lot of anxiety over development and whether all my work was pointless, I have assembled this collection of images that not only celebrate the beauty of Hiroshima, but of Japan as a whole; an authentic look at a city and the nation it calls home.
Shot entirely using only one 35mm lens on a Pentax SP1000 with very questionable functionality, it’s admittedly a miracle that this book even exists, and I hope that through these images you may find some inspiration; and a glimpse of the feelings evoked by the vistas of Japan, through 53 high-quality prints and a light-hearted commentary to accompany the journey.
